Tesco online grocery driver
Plenty of full-time managerial roles. The job in itself is well paid and easy to settle into, however managers are somewhat useless worked there for almost 6 months and met my manager twice. Was let go from the seasonal position a few weeks after I was supposed to have been under the impression I was going to be put on to a permanent contract only to be let go with 5 days notice.
Otherwise staff are all super and the working environment is good. Pros Paid breaks. A fast paced environment. Management is not for the feint hearted. Day to day as a manager you have to be completely flexible and help out in other departments. I didnt mind helping my colleagues out however when I see its due to others not pulling their weight it can be frustrating. Lots and lots of backstabbing and smart comments are made behind your back constantly which is very hard to ignore.
It was really hard to stay motivated. I had to leave my position after 20years due to severe stress. I wanted to step back within the company to lower my responsibilities however they refused as they could not get a replacement. Company offered no help so I had no choice but to hand in my 2 weeks notice. I was let go with not so much as a thank you or phone call or letter of acknowledgment. On my last day I was ignored by senior management, I assume this was due to the fact they now had to take on my responsibilities also.
As I was leaving them with an extra workload to do and I was made feel like I was the problem. A very sad and in my opinion avoidable way to leave a job in which I gave everything for almost 20years. Cons long hours, unsociable hours, lack of support, immature management, lack of empathy, zero loyalty.
