Dishpro quad 500 setup

I have std. Brand name and model and place to purchase would be helpfull. Thanks, Kasitrol. Sep 29, 7, 37 Greentown, Pennsylvania, United States. Try RadioShack, local retailers, e-bay or at www. I believe the multi switch is for DirectTV. Sep 8, 3, Springfield, IL. Sep 23, 1, 94 Spencerport, NY. Click to expand Last edited: Oct 18, Sep 29, 1, 23 Bay Minette, Al. Anole SatelliteGuys Master. JohnL 's comments above are quite correct. The problem is, the "Dish " really describes a reflector and any one of three different types of LNB configurations. Possibly four, under some circumstances. That's why the long-winded answer. Getting proper directions requires determining which sort of LNB configuration you have. Any sort of 3x4, 4x4, or XxY satellite switch you find in your local electronics store, unless it specifically says Echostar or Dish Network on it, is - not - for use with any Dish install.
So, if your local Radio Shack still has such stuff on the shelf , it won't work. Miner SatelliteGuys Pro. If one takes 2 of these 3x4 switches, and connect each switch to a dual, one gets 4 outputs. Then connect each output from the 3x4 into an SW One can then connect 4 receivers to the 2 LNBs.
Perhaps Kasitrol has a couple of 3x4 switches laying around, along with 3 SW21s. It would work. This is easier to separate signal with DP splitter.
Twin and Quad legacy LNBs will connect up to four receivers. They have the SW21 for each output. The F simply refers to "Feedhorn. We choose to use LNB since it is abbreviated. It cannot be split to support more than one receiver at a time. It may be pointed to a single satellite in space. For the dual LNB version the multiswitched signal combines both satellites and to be carried on a single cable. Two cables may be connected to this unit for two receivers. The Legacy Twin points to two satellites in space.
Legacy Quad: This unit has two circular LNB units inside one plastic housing, with four total receiver outputs. The multiswitched signal combines both satellites to be carried on one cable, and up to four receivers may be connected, one cable per receiver.
The Legacy Quad points to two satellites in space. There is no legacy quad with only one LNB. This is intended for supporting only one receiver. The SW21 is a legacy switch. Polarization is converted so everything is vertical polarity.
The Dish Pro Twin will not work with older legacy receivers. Allows for the connection of more than four receivers. This unit points to two satellites in space. Adding receivers does not require replacement because it can feed the DP34 or DPP44 for up to 12 receivers. Systems with the DP Twin are designated xxxD. The Plus refers to an additional input which allows for a third LNB to be added, for connections to The addition of a 3rd dish or LNB allows it to point to three satellites in space.
The terms Single , Twin , and Quad refer to the number of connectors on the LNB unit, relative to the number of receivers that may be connected. The name Twin is often erroneously used to describe the housing with two LNBs. The term Plus typically indicates an additional LNB with the capability of receiving from more than two satellites. A: All indications are that the unit with the shared cap is the twin and the one with individual circular caps is on the quad units, without regards to legacy or DP.
The logo is the best way to distinguish legacy from DP. A Word document and common forum "sticky post" called "Dish Network Legacy LNB and Switch types" contains some erroneous and misleading information in the author's attempt to clarify terms involved with minidish LNB parts. I am not sure if i powered by receiver down. That would answer the question of why it is not working now :p Yeah So i guess i will just order a new one.
I am using di. My goal is to try to get bev. Posted on Monday, December 31, - GMT Mike, the third bird has a different angle so it will not be possible, anyway what bird r u trying to get. Do I have to mount another Di. I have no way for a motor unit, where I have it mounted it is not possible to run anymore wires. Posted on Monday, December 31, - GMT Sled, what is your hardware set up now and what network an d how many birds? Hardware Pan. What do I need to hit Bev? The Twin LNB counts as one cascade.
Diseqc switches may be cascaded 3 deep. All Dish Pro switches use the 2-way communicating Diseqc 2. Dish Pro Twin LNB's, when connected to a Diseqc switch, must have 2 coax cables connected to the switch, as the internal Diseqc switch which is the last Diseqc switch in-line is pre-empted by the preceeding diseqc switch, therefor the internal Twin Diseqc switch will no longer need to function.
By preceeding the DP Twin with a 4x1 Diseqc switch, what you are basically doing, is changing the internal 2x1 diseqc inside a DP Twin, to be replaced with an external 4x1 diseqc switch. The point to keep in mind is that downstream Diseqc's no longer switch, they just pass the preceding Diseqc switch's commands.
